Research Interests

My general research area is in natural products, both in terms of their initial discovery by the activation of silent or cryptic gene clusters and in terms of understanding their biosynthesis pathways. I am particularly interested in antibiotic and anti fungal natural products due to there importance in clinical settings.

Key Projects, Countries, and Partners:

Current - Solving the structure and biosynthesis of a novel new fungicide - Dr Leeper and Dr Salmond (Cambridge)
2018 - Natural product discovery in the marine actinomycetes genus of Salinispora - Dr Christie-Oleza (Warwick)
