Save the date - Research Tackling Emerging Antimicrobial Resistance: Biological and Social Dimensions
Date: 6th June 2017
Location: Clare College, Cambridge

AMR poses a global challenge to healthcare and agriculture, with antibiotic overuse and misuse, both in agriculture and human medicine, leading to a growing number of bacteria in humans, animals and the environment that are resistant to them. Despite the social and political nature of pharmaceuticals and their use, there has been a surprising lack of input from the social sciences in informing courses of action. CID is planning a meeting to bring researchers across disciplines and working in ODA coutries together to promote interdisciplinary collaborations between groups that will seek funding to advance proposed projects on AMR. This interdisciplinary event is jointly organised by the Cambridge Infectious Diseases Interdisciplinary Research Centre and CRASSH. Call for papers and registration will open in April 2017.
