These enable students to undertake in-depth postgraduate training at centres of excellence throughout the UK in selected biomedical research and public health research areas. Studentships include a stipend worth between £19,919 and £23,997 per year over four years for those outside London and between £22,278 and £26,839 per year over four years for those based in London. Also includes PhD registration fees and college fees, and will make contributions towards laboratory rotation expenses in the first year, research expenses for years two to four, transferable skills training, and travel costs. |

Newton Fund | PhD Placements and Supervisor Mobility Grants China-UK |
This programme is a sponsorship opportunity for UK and Chinese PhD students and their supervisors to spend a period of study of three to 12 months (for PhD students) and up to three months (for supervisors) at higher education institutions in China or the UK. Relevant costs incurred by UK PhD students will be covered by the UK Newton Fund, including visa fees, international airfares (economy class), tuition fees, accommodation and stipend up to set ceilings depending on location. Costs beyond the above arrangements will be borne by the students themselves. |
