Professor George Salmond (Department of Biochemistry) has been elected to Fellowship of the American Academy of Microbiology.
Fellows are elected through a highly selective, annual, peer review process, based on their records of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology. Of the 87 Fellows elected this year, two are from the UK, and 15 in total from Europe.
The mission of the Academy is to recognize scientists for outstanding contributions to microbiology and provide microbiological expertise in the service of science and the public. The Academy was formed in 1955.
