I am working on a project using single cell RNA sequencing data generated from Plasmodium parasites from both laboratory strains and natural infections to create higher quality reference genomes with annotations that represent the gene expression found in natural infections and then create atlases for each of the species. This will allow us to better compare and contrast gene expression across different life stages and between different strains within and between infections.
