An Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Cambridge

Cambridge Infectious Diseases belongs to a wider network of Strategic Research Initiatives (SRIs) and Interdisciplinary Research Centres (IRCs).

The Research Strategy Office (RSO) has oversight of all of these networks which are key to building on areas of existing research strengths of the University. They have four key aims:

  • to address large-scale multi-disciplinary research challenges;
  • to strengthen research collaborations and knowledge transfer across disciplines;
  • to increase research capacity and profile by providing a platform for large-scale funding applications, recruitments and international research partnerships;
  • and to enhance our ability to influence national and international research, policy and funding agendas.

You can find a list of all the networks with all the contact details of their coordinators/managers here. CID works closely with some of the networks, organizing joint workshops and events with topics of overlapping interests.
