What I do:
I investigate the progression of infectious diseases and their association with disability, focusing on the impact of chronic infections on long-term disease outcomes, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
My research interests lie in the field of infectious disease epidemiology, with a particular focus on chronic infections and their long-term health impacts. I am particularly interested in the progression of Tuberculous Meningitis to stroke and other neurological outcomes, and how chronic infections influence disease aetiology and morbidity. I aim to explore the role of host immunity, inflammation, and co-infections in the development of severe disease outcomes. My work also includes the use of large-scale epidemiological data to identify at-risk populations and inform health interventions in low- and middle-income countries.
