The Battle Against Rabies - OneHealth
Join us on THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 27th helping to raise awareness about the burden of rabies.

September 28 is World Rabies Day.Over 60,000 people die a year from rabies. With 100% fatality and over 99% of human rabies cases caused by infected dog bites, rabies is a greatly feared disease in many parts of the world.
But it is 100% preventable.
Hosted by Cambridge University OneHealth Society, with sponsorship from Cambridge Infectious Diseases, this evening event will bring together two speakers to discuss the Rabies challenge, with a focus on prevention and control efforts worldwide.
Speakers:
- Professor James Wood- Head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at University of Cambridge, and an infectious disease epidemiologist.
- Clara Buxbaum- A Veterinary student from Vienna, and programmes intern at Mission Rabies who will introduce the stories and future of their vaccination programmes.
