An Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Cambridge

What do I do?

I catalogue ecological relationships and potential spatial separations between cystic fibrosis airway microbiome species from a hybrid method of statistics, mathematical modelling and time-series data of clinical and laboratory samples.

Research Interests:

Ecology shapes many ecosystems, including (chronic) disease microbiomes. Sampling limitations in both clinical and laboratory practices can only obtain small data sets. Yet if these data contains a biological pattern(s), then we can potentially uncover it and make ecologically-informative conclusions. Since biological research fields are increasingly specific, solutions for some technical difficulties in one field might have already been published in another field. I'm interested in how the interdisciplinary approach can advance our understanding of the biology and ecology of different systems, especially those with limited samples.
